KALAELOA/NAS BARBERS PT TOWER PROJECT

The State of Hawaii Airports Division, The Barbers Point Naval Air Museum and HAPS have begun collaboration for a refurbishing of the Kalaeloa Airport Tower Building lobby.  The plan is to use volunteer labor from the two charitable organizations with the Airports Division supplying the materials in order to beautify the lobby area. We will paint walls and put historic pictures and static displays in the tower lobby to help increase public awareness of the important part this airport has played in the aviation history of Hawaii.

On September 17th, 2006, phase one began with the wall facing the main entrance to the building.  Click on the pictures in the photo gallery below for the results of "volunteer day one".
